For The Mom Who Feels Like She Is Failing
You know those days where you feel your PMS is getting the best of you and your patience has worn paper thin. The days where you give and just feel tired and useless and like nothing your doing is making a difference at all. When you are certain your husband, kids and everyone else deserve better and your just screwing everything up.
When your sure you're a Mommy failure....
I know this feeling all too well... It's a constant companion as your rearing children of any age. An assassin on your hopes for the future and a fearless reminder of the missteps in your past. Looming over you are the many regrets and day by day they seem to just continue piling up.
Momma, you are not a failure...
I know you are thinking "she has no idea" as you breeze through your list of ideals that you've not held to. The dishes are in the sink from last night, an explosion of dirty clothes in your laundry room, the floor needs lots of cleaning, kids need quality time, all the while you neglect your basic needs and still don't have the energy to pluck your eyebrows.
You're not alone Momma and this doesn't mean you've failed.
Failure means you've given up and stopped trying and while you may feel a desire to quit some days.... You haven't! Get back up today and continue the fight to find JOY in the mundane! It's there so search for it with all you have!
The weight of condemnation that looms when you don't measure up is not yours to carry if you have surrendered your life and desires to Jesus.
“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death.”Romans 8:1-2 NLT
Praise God that He fills in the gaps between our ideals and our ability to perform them perfectly! Our constant effort to please Jesus in the individual calling he placed on each of us is not wasted!
Tired Momma, you are giving all you can... And by Jesus' grace IT IS ENOUGH. Your laboring is worth it!
Lonely Momma, don't give up pursuing those spiritually sharpening relationships... You need it! Your family and your soul will benefit from it if you fight to pursue it!
Discouraged Momma, your perfect performance is not what Jesus expects from you so please don't hold yourself to that standard! Instead, progress towards being more like Christ each day and humbly seeking forgiveness for those maxed out moments is the new ideal.
The gospel is the answer. We could never do it on our own and are in desperate need of Jesus. Because of Him, you are not and will never be a failure, as long as you are fighting to know the one who makes you ENOUGH!
