FIGHTING TO KNOW JESUS IS RIDDLED WITH JOY AND DIFFICULTY, AS IS MOTHERHOOD. IF WE EMBRACE THIS, IT WILL BRING US TO A PLACE THAT ONLY GOD CAN BRING REST TO AND SUSTAIN US IN. THIS IS WHERE DEEP JOY IS FOUND.

Do you feel like God is ROBBING you?

Do you feel like God is ROBBING you?

Have you ever questioned God's goodness because implementing obedience to one of His commands will be difficult?

Intellectually knowing God's goodness is different from believing He is good when it involves sacrifice.

Knowing His goodness to the degree that He is worth obeying fully, regardless of the cost...

...is truly knowing God.

Sometimes it feels like God is taking something good from me when He calls me to obey His word...

Sometimes it's difficult and I don't fully understand the why...

This is where I must trust that He is a good Father...

That He knows what we need, even if it's not what we want.

That He is only and always bringing me into DEEPER JOY that is only found in Himself.

That the sacrifices my Christian life's comprised of, are only meant to bring my hearts ache to the God-Man who can sufficiently satisfy it.

God is not robbing good from you by calling you to obedience to His commands in scripture...

I know it feels like He is...

Our feelings will always be terribly gods though...

God's only goal for you is to give you the deepest joy possible...

And that depth of joy is ONLY found in Himself.

Oddly enough, we often become used to saturating ourselves like a sponge in so many "lesser joys" that we end up hiding the ache God meant to bring us closer to Him.

So with a "knowing" only a Father has...

He brings us to place of discontentment where we must display our trust in Him.

Letting go of what we believe is best...

And instead, walking in His way, creates in us an ache that He so graciously fills with Himself.

He knows that is the place of true and lasting joy...

So He calls us into it.

We only experience this depth of joy if we trust His goodness enough to embrace the sacrifice of our desires, in exchange for more of Himself.

Giving up what we think we want for what we actually desperately need...

Allowing the ache to drive us towards God instead of grasping for control in our own efforts to satisfy...

God is calling you to let go of what you think you want...

So He can fully satisfy you with what you actually need...

This will never be easy and will usually cause pain but the ache of that pain is not without reason...

It is purposed to drive you into the chasm of desperation for the God-Man who longs to turn every bitter thing sweet.

“One who is full loathes honey, but to one who is hungry everything bitter is sweet.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:7‬ ‭ESV‬‬
