FIGHTING TO KNOW JESUS IS RIDDLED WITH JOY AND DIFFICULTY, AS IS MOTHERHOOD. IF WE EMBRACE THIS, IT WILL BRING US TO A PLACE THAT ONLY GOD CAN BRING REST TO AND SUSTAIN US IN. THIS IS WHERE DEEP JOY IS FOUND.

The Arrow

The Arrow

Sometimes life bends you to the point that you feel your going to break...

We all have those seasons when there are obstacles and difficulties around every corner...

Some as trivial as toddlers playing in the toilet or having a hay day tearing an entire pack of toilet paper (I may know that from experience)...

and others so weighty you can barely speak of it.

Have you been to the point where you question if you can even handle anything else?

This has been my life at times and I'm sure yours as well...

Stretching...

difficulty...

monotony....

Failure...

Exhaustion...

Fighting to know God...

and finding only silence.

And, my friend, these are the times we must remember what is true...

Yes, that God is theoretically good...

But that He is also...

Good to ME.

That every stretching season and the pain that inevitably comes along with it...

is carefully used by Him as an arrow in the hand of a skillful Archer.

That the weight of being pulled back and stretched to the point where you feel you may break...

Is so you will be launched into the dark hopelessness of your world...

with a sturdiness that only an Archer, who crafts and knows His own instruments, can give.

The fires of life and hammers of difficulty were carefully purposed by our Creator to shape something sturdy and effective that will achieve its desired end.

When you feel as if life is pulling you back to its breaking point....

Remember God is drawing you back to Himself...

To launch you where your life finds an eternal purpose and satisfaction...

In HIM despite the current circumstances.

He is not absent or unengaged...

He is fully aware of your plight...

And He is always willing to give you what you need, even if it's not what you want.

Always for YOUR good.

May we endure the stretching and pulling back with a strength that surpasses ours but is generously lavished by our Maker...

May we be the instruments God uses to pierce through the pain, sorrow and unbelief of those around us.

This is my happily ever after...

This is my happily ever after...

Motherhood is green with envy.

Motherhood is green with envy.
